Hi, I’m Choully — a Sydney hair & makeup artist with eight years behind the chair, working across weddings, editorial, and the bigger occasions in between.
Most of my year is bridal. Wedding mornings have a particular rhythm — paced backwards from the ceremony, with extra time built in for the things that always run a little long. I work mobile to where you’re getting ready, with a small team I trust for larger parties.
The rest of the diary fills with editorial — beauty stories, fashion campaigns, on-set work for film and television — and the bigger glam days: corporate launches, photoshoots, formals. Different briefs, the same approach.

Three things, mostly. Bridal — the trial, the morning itself, and your party if you’d like one. Glam and events — formals, milestones, corporate days, in-studio or mobile. Commercial and editorial — brand campaigns, content shoots, and on-set work for film and television.
Booking a Sydney hair & makeup artist
Weddings are usually booked six to twelve months ahead, and the date is held once the deposit is in. Everything else is often possible at shorter notice — send the date through and I’ll tell you honestly whether it works. I travel across Sydney, and further for destination weddings; travel is quoted with everything else so there’s nothing to find out later.
How I work
Tight kit, generous timings. Skin comes first — prep, then product chosen for the light you’ll actually be sitting in, not the light in my studio. If you photograph a lot, say so. If you never wear makeup, say that too. Neither changes whether it ends up looking like you.

What booking actually looks like
Booking a Sydney hair & makeup artist starts with a date and a rough sense of the day. I reply within 48 hours, and if the date is already held I will say so straight away rather than leave you waiting. For weddings the date is held once the deposit is in; for most other work a request is usually fine at shorter notice.
Then the trial, if you want one. Most brides do. It is where we find out how a look sits on your own skin, how it photographs, and how it holds after seven hours — the things a reference photo cannot tell you. It also makes the wedding morning quicker, because the decisions are already made.
On the day I come to you. Most of Sydney is a straightforward drive, and I am out to the Blue Mountains, Southern Highlands and South Coast often enough that the timings are not guesswork. Allow roughly 45 minutes a person; for larger parties I bring a second artist so the schedule holds. Early ceremonies are normal in this work, and an early-start fee applies before 7am, confirmed when the booking is approved rather than added afterwards.
